canvaskids

There are several kiddos in canvaskids that have really captured my heart over the last few weeks.

Lil-O (6 years old) has a heart for worship...at one point Sheri made a CD of the songs the praise team was learning for her because she wanted to be able to sing with us during service. Just about every week during the closing song Lil-O ends up joining the praise team to sing her heart out!! It is so cool to see that God is so alive in her and I can't wait to see how He continues to use her through the years.

Lil-O is also a worker...she has been up at the new canvas building with us several times. She has had a hammer in her hands several times to help knock walls out and has helped with other things around the building. Yes, she was being closely watched with that hammer!!!!

To the next kiddos I want to talk about...
Lil-O has 2 younger siblings..."Big-M" is the sweetest little man!!! His little smiling face lights up a room. He and I are slowly becoming good friends...he is a little bashful but flirts with the ladies none the less.

And the youngest of the 3..."Miss Em". This sweet thing can be a handful but at the same time can be pretty mild mannered. She is like her brother & sister when it comes to loving the music and she is already following in her sister's footsteps with the singing. Em is not quite a year old but last night was singing/squealing through the praise team's run through before service. I was holding Em and let me tell you...she was very intrigued by Craig as he was playing the keyboard and singing. At first she was taking it all in and before we knew it we could hear her sweet little voice mixed in with the rest of ours.

Last but certainly not least is "Lil Miss E". "E" has come up with her dad on a couple of different occasions. This little 2 year old pretty much runs the place. We have had a couple of melt downs when someone has walked out the door without her but we have made it through!! "E" is happy "helping". She loved helping clean the chairs...we gave her a rag and she wiped chairs with the best of 'em. I think her favorite thing is the broom and dust-pan. It is funny to see what all they pick up from watching all the adults around them!!!

"E" loves the music too. Everything from Ben letting her hit the drums to banging on the piano to the newest trend of Sheri holding her & her holding the microphone. Too cute!!! Last night she brought a maraca and was running all over the building shakin' that thing!!!

I know that this blog has ended up being long...I was intending on it being a little shorter but was unable to stop myself once I got going. Hang with me just a couple of more minutes, PLEASE!!!

As I was thinking about these kids I began to think about what the Word of God says...

Luke 18:16 - Jesus called the children to Him & said, "Let the little children come unto me, and do not hinder them, for the Kingdom of God belongs to such as these."

Psalms 8:2 - From the lips of children & infants you have ordained praise.

*I know that I left several of the canvaskids out of this post. Please know that I love all of these kids...these are just the 4 that I have gotten to spend more time with over the last few weeks.
