It was one year ago right now that I had just shown up to start working at Bank of the Ozarks again. (**REWIND-One year ago July 1st I moved back to Little Rock from Oklahoma City.) It was so good to be back home and to be back working with the ladies (and man) at BOTO.
But back then (as it is today) my mind was in another place...and that place was St. Louis, Missouri. That's right...it was one year ago right now that Nana, Poppa (or as you call him "BOY")and your Daddy were getting prepared to welcome you home for the first time!!!
I could never forget being apart from everyone when you came home...I so wanted to be at the airport to welcome you with that huge crowd of people. I can remember every hour or two I would call Nana or your Daddy to see what they had heard and then I would convey the messages to Mammaw. That was one of the most joyous but hardest moments in my life!!!
But 5 days later you and I had special memories of our own. I can remember it like it was yesterday...I drove to Little Rock Airport at 5:30am on July 14th to catch the earliest flight to St. Louis. I got to the airport where Nana and Poppa met me and I was so ready to get to your house to finally hold you...and as we walked out to what I assumed would be my car...in it's place sat a little Black Honda Civic with your Mommy in the driver's seat and your smiley little brown face in the backseat. Nana told me that you would not be making the trip to the airport that early in the morning but your sneaky Mom wanted to surprise me. We all squashed in the car and went to Panera Bread Company for breakfast before Poppa had to fly back to Little Rock. We became fast friends because I fed you as much fruit as you wanted while we were at Panera...I couldn't serve you fast enough. We had so much fun getting know each other!!! We played so hard those couple of days. I will NEVER forget these memories.
I want to thank God for the gift of Eliot Samuel Mohr...he has and will continue to be a treasure to me and the rest of my family.
ELIOT...I LOVE YOU MORE THAN WORDS CAN SAY!!! AND I AM SO PROUD TO BE ABLE TO SAY THAT I AM YOUR AUNT!!!
